Birthday Fun...Take 1

It's hard to believe that my little boy is 7! That's one year away from 8, which seems really grown up. I'm not sure I'm ready for that!!
As usual, Cole's birthday celebration lasted for several days. We started on his actual birthday with donuts for breakfast, treats at school, treats at soccer, and of course his presents.
He was pretty excited about his fishing pole, until he was told to go look in the car for his last present.
I guess you can't actually see what it is in the picture, a real 10-foot basketball hoop! And thanks to his cousin Kalin, it was assembled and usable by the weekend. We went to Salt Lake for a visit and by the time we got home, it was put together.
The next part of his celebration was his party. Cole had a soccer game on his birthday, so his party had to wait for the next day. Originally, he wanted to have an army party at our house, so we made a guest list accordingly. However, his Dad informed him that there was a BYU baseball game that night and Cole quickly decided that sounded like much more fun. (However, we should have adjusted the guest list!! We ended up with a lot of kids to keep track of at the game!)
We started out at our house making little pizzas.
And then devouring them.
Then we opened presents.
Everyone is always eager to see what fun stuff there is!
Finally it was off to the ballpark. Unfortunately, even though it was the end of April, it was still freezing! But, we took blankets, wore jackets, and bundled up.
Apparently at this young age, they are already segregating.
So we had a girl group,
And a boy group.
Chad led them in Take Me Out to the Ballgame during the 7th inning stretch.
And finally, what they had all been waiting for...Cosmo's arrival.Cosmo gave lots of high fives to the group,
Flexed his muscles,
Posed for pictures,
And had a little bit of popcorn before he wished Cole one final "Happy Birthday" and departed.
We finished the night with baseball cupcakes before dropping the kids off and collapsing.Cole's final celebration occurred when his cousins and almost-cousins came over for cake and ice cream a few days later. They were out of town at a baseball tournament during his actual birthday and party and Cole just couldn't stand to leave them out! So we saved his cake to celebrate with them.
What else would it be in the year of the Jimmer!!
Happy Birthday to my big 7 year old!!
