Happy 4th Birthday Princess Emily!

As we were talking about Cole's birthday and what we were doing for it, Emily always made sure that we did not forget that her birthday was coming up after Cole's and that she wanted a Princess birthday. So, to let her Royal Highness know her birthday was important too, we celebrated for what seemed like a week. The celebration started the Thursday before her birthday when her presents from the "Flying Grandma and Grandpa" arrived. She and Ellie discovered the box left on the porch by the mailman and since she can recognize her name, there was no way I was going to get away with telling her it was for someone else. So, I let her open one of them to tide her over until Grandma and Grandpa could watch on the webcam.
Thankfully there were 2 pairs of shoes. One for each of them!
I think they need a little work wearing fancy shoes. I'm pretty sure they fell over more than they stayed up!
Then, she had a party with her friends on Friday. She declared that she was having an all-Princess party, so that's what we did.
We started the party by having the girls make their own crowns. (Notice how nice and even the crowns are cut. Chad spent a long time making sure they were just perfect!)
Of course an all-Princess party is a little tricky to invite a boy too, but thankfully Emily's one friend who is a boy has older sisters. He was a good sport through all of the girl stuff. We did have him make a sword instead of a crown so he could be their knight in shining armor!
You are now dubbed Sir Josh! After their crowns were made, they got dressed up in fancy princess dresses to go to the ball. Cole and his buddy also dressed up as knights so Josh would have some fellow knights to hang out with!
Before they could head to the ball though, they needed to prove that they were true princesses. In Princess and the Pea fashion, they sat on pillows to see if they could tell which pillow was hiding the pea.
They all managed to prove their worth and reveal the pea. Then, they had to try to find a prince to take them to the ball. How can you find a handsome prince? By kissing a frog, of course!
I'm not sure if he was the prince or the frog! But all of the kids thought he was hilarious!
Then we had to prepare the royal feast. Pizza and Cheetos are fitting for a royal party, right?
Then, everyone had to find a hidden piece to a puzzle that would show them who else would be at the ball with them.
Mission accomplished!
Then it was time to dance at the ball.

After we were worn out from dancing, it was on to the ever popular present opening.
Emily got lots and lots of Princess stuff!
Finally, they had to speak to the Magic Mirror. Once they said the magic phrase, a goody bag appeared out of nowhere!

What a party! I'm tired just remembering all about it!
