After her party on Friday night, we had to take Saturday off from celebrating just so we could recover. By Sunday, Emily was ready for more! Sunday was the grandparents turn to celebrate. We went to spend Mother's Day in Salt Lake, so Emily got to open presents up there and have cake and ice cream. Then, when we got home, Emily was finally able to get on the webcam and open the rest of the presents from the "flying" grandparents. (Apparently since it was Mother's Day as well, I took the day off from picture taking. But, since she got two of her favorite presents on that day, I have had plenty of picture opportunities since!)Emily and her friends love to get this present out and see how they measure up to being a princess! They don't seem to realize or care that measuring every day is a little less effective!
As soon as she opened it, this workbook became Emily's constant companion. When she woke up in the morning, she wanted to work on it. When she went to bed at night, she asked if she could work on her workbook in the morning. It was a little crazy. What's even crazier is that she finished all 320 pages in less than a week!
Finally came Monday and Emily's actual birthday! She really wanted donuts for her birthday breakfast, but she didn't want to get dressed to go get them. I think it was after 1 o'clock before she finally decided to get dressed and since it was her birthday, I let her wait.
Since Emily hadn't had her big fancy princess cake yet, we had to invite family and almost family over for cake, ice cream, and present opening.

It ended up being quite a crowd.
Don't they look thrilled to be eating a princess cake!
Addy will pretty much take anything that tastes sweet!
As will Kira!
Emily and her cake.
After we had cake and ice cream, Emily opened her presents. More princess stuff of course!

After she unwrapped her last present, she was told she had one more thing to find but she had to go on a treasure hunt for it.
So away she and her posse went to find all the clues. The second to last clue sent them to Chad. I think they almost knocked him over as they all rushed to him.
Chad's clue sent them out to search cars for it. Kalin's truck contained the special present.
Emily's reaction when they pulled it out, "Is that for me?" (Like there was someone else who had a birthday and wanted everything princess!!)
And this is where she had to ride it for the first couple of days after her birthday due to cold, rainy weather! She put a lot of miles in up and down the hallway and in the basement!
Monday wasn't the end of the celebration even. On Tuesday, she finally got to have her donuts. That was the treat she chose to take to preschool to celebrate with her class!
Happy Birthday Emily! I hope it was everything you wanted! Enjoy being 4.
