Cole was so excited when he brought home his February calendar from school and saw that his class was having a Valentine's Day Party. A few days later when he was still talking about, I had to burst his bubble and tell him that we were going to be on our trip during his party so he wouldn't be able to go. He looked up at me with the saddest eyes and wailed, "But Mom, I had to miss my Christmas Party too." (We were at the Las Vegas Bowl for that one.) After discussing his options, including possibly skipping our trip, he finally decided that he would make his Valentines beforehand and send them with his buddy and also have his buddy collect Cole's Valentines and bring them home. After he was satisfied with that solution, some what, he looked at me again and said, "Mom, will you make sure that I don't miss my Easter party." I didn't have the heart to tell him that they probably wouldn't have an Easter party!
As soon as we pulled in the garage after our trip, at about 7:30 on a Saturday night, he sprinted next door to get his Valentine's bag from his buddy. Then he ran inside and proceeded to analyze every Valentine that he had received! (The can of pop and straw was from his teacher.)

I think I mentioned that Emily loves to "help" me in various ways. She also loves to "help" Addy, even when Addy doesn't really want her to or I don't really want her to. Most of the time, she is very cute as she tries to take care of Addy. Emily is even starting to let Addy play things with her like babies, dolls, or cooking/making a huge mess in my kitchen.

However, sometimes her "help" is not the best idea for anyone involved. One morning after my kids had not slept well, I was laying in bed trying to get the energy to get up. Cole and Emily were watching TV in the other room and Addy was still in bed, or so I thought. All of a sudden, I hear Emily say, "Addy hold still so I can change your diaper." As you can imagine, I shot out of bed trying to figure out how Addy got out of bed and what kind of mess was going to great me from the diaper changing. Thankfully, Addy hadn't held still long enough for Emily to accomplish much. I'm still not sure how Addy made it out of bed that morning, and I'm not sure I want to know!

Whoever said that you always take pictures of your oldest children, but never the youngest child hasn't seen the cute smile of Addy. It seems like I have more pictures of her than anyone because as soon as I pull the camera out, she gets a goofy grin on her face and says, "cheese" (at least that's what I think she says!).

Stay tuned for 150 pictures or so of our trip to Missouri!

You were in MO? What happened to our McD's meetup?
Addy's little smile IS cute. But don't let it disarm you...she's too smart to have a smile like that!
Was Cole looking for a Valentine from a certain someone? Is that why he was so excited to go pick them up?
Yeah Missouri!
